India’s Dish TV adds Telugu channels

Indian direct to home (DTH) satellite platform Dish TV is adding three more Telugu channels to its regional bouquet aimed at viewers in the state of Andhra Pradesh. 

The new channels are Maa Music, Maa Movies and Maa Junior – and bring Dish TV’s Telugu language offering to 20 channels, across the genres of general entertainment, news, music and movies.

“Dish TV has always taken the lead in enhancing the value proposition and believes in providing the maximum and the best in entertainment to its subscribers,” said Anjali Malhotra, senior vice president of marketing, Dish TV, in announcing the additional channels.

“Our endeavour is to increase affinity with our audiences by providing them the choice of content they would like to watch,” she added. “With the latest additions in our channel bouquet, we take pride to offer maximum Telugu content to our customers in Andhra Pradesh and we will continue to expand our offerings with further additions.”

Dish TV, which was the first of India’s six private DTH satellite players, currently has the largest number of DTH subscribers through its offering of over 315 TV channels and services.

Venkat Krishna of TV5 ..join StudioN very soon

Venkat Krishna of TV5 will join StudioN very soon. Earlier Venkat Krishna worked in ETV2 as Senior Journalist and use to cover Chandra babu Naidu activities on behalf of ETV. He made good relationship with him and upon request of Chandra Babu Naidu Venkat Krishna is going to be part of StudioN Team. But StudioN management is failing to pay salaries regularly.

Narne Srinivasa rao, who is the founder of StudioN, wanted to give this channel to Jr.NTR as marriage gift, but Nara Lokesh who completely took over the channel is keeping Narne Srinivasa rao offline from channel activities. will join StudioN very soon. DC Starting New TV Channel?

With the presence of electronic media making a strong impact on the lives of Indian society, many honchos have been vying hard to have their own presence. Now, it is heard that the age old Deccan Chronicle group has begun to make plans and venture out into the e-media market.

Sources reveal that there are thoughts in the DC circles about setting up a news and entertainment channel. Currently, the groundwork is said to be on and a survey is being conducted to check the viability of the market share and what can be the USPs for the new channel.

There is also a talk that the charming and attractive Gayatri Reddy who owns the Deccan Chargers cricket team is likely to head this as well. For now, no formal announcements have been made but many other media houses and channels are eagerly waiting to see if this takes shape or not.

Idea Filmfare awards ceremony on July 2

HYDERABAD: The 58th Idea Filmfare Awards 2010 (South) will be presented in Hyderabad on July 2, 2011.

The prestigeous awards which are a recognition of talent in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films will be given away at the awards ceremony at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre at Madhapur.

Popular Telugu film hero Ram Charan Tej who associated himself with a press conference organised to announce about the awards on Friday described the Filmfare awards as the `most genuine and prestigeous film awards in the country'.
