Gemini TV relaunches Sundarakanda

BANGALORE: The Sun Network’s Telugu offering, Gemini Television, has relaunched its half-hour daily soap Sundarakanda on completion of 300 episodes with a

new twist in its plot for garnering high ratings as well as to ensue viewer stickiness.

The new time band is at 6.30 pm, every Monday- Friday. Earlier when Sundaraakanda was launched, it was slotted to run between 9 and 9.30 pm.

Gemini said this is the first South Indian TV serial to be shot in the US where the first few episodes are based. Reportedly, the shooting took place in the beautiful locales in many important places including the Brooklyn Bridge, as well as in New York and New Jersey.

The serial, meant more specifically for parents seeking NRI grooms for their daughters, attempts to convey a message meant to empower women; a woman could revolt and seek the justice for all sorts of tortures rather than bear them silently.

The serial stars Simran and Sujitha and Saikirann and is directed by Sundhar K Vijayan. It has been produced by G3-Studio headed by Arun and Satya Gopal.
