After Ram Reddy, Swapna to quit Sakshi

Close on the heels of “Priyadarshni” Ram Reddy a.k.a. Ram Annayya who had an unceremonious exit from Sakshi television channel promoted by YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, its most talented chief editor Swapna is also on the way out from the channel, according to grapevine.

Sources said Swapna would be joining as the head of the new media house to be launched by Praja Rajyam Party president-turned-Congress leader K Chiranjeevi. She reportedly served a notice on the Sakshi management to that effect. It is only a matter of time that she would be out of the Sakshi office.

In fact, Swapna got the offer from Chiranjeevi a couple of months ago, but she could not accept it immediately as Jagan personally intervened and requested her to stay back. She could have been quite happy with Ram Reddy being out of the media house and expected that she would be elevated to the post of CEO.

However, Jagan brought in Vardhelli Murali, editor of Sakshi daily, as the new CEO, much to the disgruntlement of Swapna. So, she decided to call it quits.

The PRP president is launching the new media house, after he withdrew his stakes in Maa TV. Along with its Chief Executive Officer Sharath Marar is working out a full-fledged news-cum-entertainment channel. And Swapna is going to play a key role in Chiranjeevi’s channel.
